Program: C.B. Hume of Hume Art Studio, Baton Rouge, LA—“Painting Landscapes and Flowers with Coffee”
Artist C. B. (Bruce) Hume gave a program on painting landscapes and animals with coffee at the Gardenette's October 11 meeting.
Gardenettes Peggy Avery and Vicky Fannaly help welcome guest Adrienne Dunn, a former member.

C. B. Hume of Hume Art Studio, Baton Rouge, presented a program on painting flowers and landscapes with coffee, to the Gardenettes at their October 11 meeting, held at the Strawberry Hut in Memorial Park.
It was a happy accident, one of many, that helped him develop his unique technique. His wife spilled her cup of coffee on his drawing pad, and he began manipulating the liquid into shapes and forms. He condenses coffee into a thick syrup which can be used to replicate black. Diluting it makes lighter shades of brown.
Gardenettes are members of District VI, Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs Inc., and National Garden Clubs Inc.
Hostess for the meeting was Lynda Byrd. Co-hostesses included Margaret Bailey, Dale Rieth, and Liz Anderson. President Anna Poland welcomed the members, and Kathy Bruce said a prayer which included intentions for those who were too ill to make the meeting. Vicky Fannaly introduced her guest Adrienne Dunn, a former member.
Karen Moran distributed raffle tickets for the concrete bench and rabbit, proceeds going to the scholarship fund. Drawing will be November 4 at 4pm. The club plans to sell tickets and cake at Collinswood Museum during the fall Trade Days.
Members not previously mentioned included Flora Nelson, Margaret Hardin, Dottie Boudreaux, Carol Borgstede, Ellen Pusey, Sandra Haro, Marilyn Wright, Cynthia Cummer and Cricket Ayala.
