Susan Pizani has been elected president of the Gardenettes, a Ponchatoula garden club. She succeeds Vicky Fannaly in the position.
Other officers include vice president - Marilyn Wright; second vice-president – Fannaly; treasurer – Ellen Pusey; recording secretary – Jamie LeBlanc; corresponding secretary – Cynthia Cummer; parliamentarian – Sunday Hanson; chaplain – Kathy Bruce.
Gardenettes are members of District VI, Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs Inc. and National Garden Clubs Inc.
A native of New Orleans, Pizani has lived in Covington, Metairie, and Colorado. Married to T. J. Pizani, she is the mother of two and proud grandmother of four. According to Pizani, “After Katrina we moved to Colorado where we lived for ten years. When it was time to come home, we decided to build a house in Ponchatoula. I quickly found the Gardenettes.”
Pizani has served in the garden club in many committees, but notably on Arbor Day where she has coordinated the annual January tree planting ceremonies.
