DISTRICT VI PRESIDENT'S MEETING

District VI Garden Clubs President's meeting held June 16 at Middendorf's. Gardenettes attending were Marilyn Wright, Margaret Hardin and Vicky Fannaly. All clubs are members of Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs Inc. and National Garden Clubs Inc.

Local Garden Club officers attended Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc. District VI President's Meeting at Juban Restaurant in Baton Rouge June 14. An orientation meeting for the new presidents and a chance for returning presidents to exchange ideas, the meeting was conducted by District Director Cindy Moran.
Representing the Gardenettes were president Vicky Fannaly and vice president Pat Walsh. Other area clubs represented were Belle Oaks of Hammond by president Sandy Grimm, Stem and Stamen of Amite by president Merrie Bennett, Hammond by Carolyn Todd.
The 17 clubs are members or Deep South Garden Clubs Inc. and National Garden Clubs Inc. Many District VI chairmen attended: treasurer Kyle Martin, parliamentarian Fannaly, chairmen Clara Earl, Ruth Delhomme, director elect Donna Moran.

Former District VI Director, Carolyn Todd of Hammond Garden Club, Gardenette Vice President Sandra Haro and President Vicky Fannaly, and Trudy Millard, President of West Baton Rouge Garden and Civic Club - enjoy a high tea hosted by Baton Rouge Garden Club and District VI Director Cindy Moran for the annual President's Meeting. Clubs are members of Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs Inc. and National Garden Clubs Inc.

Carolyn Todd, Hammond, took office as District VI Director for the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc. at their convention in April and presented her new club presidents at a luncheon at Middendorf's in Akers, May 25. Todd's District includes 19 clubs and runs from Brusly to Mt. Hermon and Slidell.
The meeting was called to order with an invocation by Mary Thornhill, president of the Hammond Garden Club. Gardenette president Sonya Avery led the pledge of allegiance. Kyle Martin, president of the Covington Garden Club, gave the treasurer's report. A recap of work on the 2020 Convention in Metairie was given by co-chairmen Ruth Delhomme (New Iberia) and Clara Earl (Baton Rouge). Donna Moran (Covington) said the grace before the meal.
Initiating newly elected presidents and refreshing returning officers was part of the program. Introducing the new District VI officers and members of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc. so that problems could be addressed at the source was also part of the program. District and state groups are members of Deep South Garden Clubs Inc. and National Garden Clubs Inc.
