YEARBOOK: The yearbook for 2022-2023 is at the printer's. We will set a get together at a restaurant in July to distribute them. Your significant others are welcome to join us for this social event.
FEBRUARY JOINT TANGIPAHOA GARDEN CLUB MEETING: Jamie LeBlanc hosted the planning meeting for the February Joint Parish meeting. Food was great! Thanks, Jamie, Pat Walsh and Susan Pizani - anyone who helped. It was all very good.
Theme for the meeting was provided by Cynthia Cummer - "You Light Up My Life." It will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall with Kathryn Martin as guest speaker. We were able to get the hall free but need to wash their white table cloths if we want to use them. This is $40 - we take them to the laundromat and pick them up when they are clean
Food will be catered. We are going to get estimates from three places - an inexpensive and a better menu from each. Then we can decide what we can afford. Susan Pizani has estimates from Fine Thymes catering. Soungs great!
Table decorations will be by teams. Each team will interpret the theme as they please - what lights up your life - gardening, family, birds, etc. It was suggested that we all do the same favors for each place setting. A thought was a six-pack of transplantable plants, cut into six favors, with a ribbon or foil on each. The centerpiece should be composed of things you don't mind being taken by the winner. The centerpiece container should be uniform - selection at a later date.
Teams are as follows. There are 19 of us, so we will do eight teams of two with three of us - Vicky Fannaly, Margaret Hardin and Sherry LeBlanc doing the row type head table. Thinking the circular tables will be for eight. Teams so far:
Marilyn Wright and Pat Walsh
Cynthia Cummer and Sandy Cussick
Susan Pizani and Sunday Hanson
Ellen Pusey and Carol McGough
Mary Hirsch and Jamie LeBlanc
Available for partnerships are: Margaret Bailey, Cricket Ayala, Rose Husser, Dottie Boudreaux, Kathy Bruce, Betty Jordan.
We will be funding the meeting through our silent auction items. Search your storage for nice items you no longer want. Perhaps we could get gift certificates or donations from local merchants. Committee for this consists of Jamie LeBlanc, Margaret Bailey, Susan Pizani and Mary Hirsch.
Registration table will be manned by Pat Walsh and Sunday Hanson. Mainly getting people to sign in and get a name tag. We are asking everyone to greet our guests especially if you do not know them, to make them welcome.
We will need to by flatwear, cups, plates. Drinks will be sweet and unsweet tea, water, coffee. Wow! lots to think about!
