June 5-11 National Garden Week, Chairman Sunday Hanson
NATIONAL GARDEN WEEK: National Garden Week is being honored June 6-12 by over 5,000 National Garden Clubs in the United States and abroad, according to Sunday Hanson, Gardenettes chairman for the event. The annual event was started to encourage community pride, enhance existing gardens and beautify blighted areas.

REGRETS! Karen Moran decided to leave the group for the time being. She may attend just to visit in the future.
SECOND CHANCE: If you absolutely want to change your committee, let me know by the end of June. We will be publishing our yearbook at the end of July. Otherwise you will continue on the same committee.
PLANNING MEETING – Members gathered at Jamie Leblanc’s to make arrangements for the February 8 Joint Parish Meeting – the theme is “You Light Up My World!.” The club will be divided into teams of two to decorate their tables. Some teams already formed include Marilyn Wright and Pat Walsh, Sandy Cusick and Cynthia Cummer, Vicky Fannaly with Sherry Klein and Margaret Hardin (head table), Sunday Hanson and Susan Pizani, Jamie LeBlanc and Mary Hirsch, Ellen Pusey and Carol McGough.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: Don’t forget to collect the Box Tops and Community coffee coupons, to give to Betty Jordan. Schools can cash these in for educational supplies.
SHOES FOR CONVENTION: Deep South Convention next year will be using gently used shoes for a fundraiser. They will be collecting until January in case you feel a need to make room in your closet.
LOOSE CHANGE: Looking for coins for Penny Pines and Quarters for Waters. Bring them to the meeting when you attend.
INSTALLATION BANQUET: 80th Installation Banquet was held at Salty Joe’s on Range Road, 11:30 a.m. May 11. Sixth District Director Cindy Moran conducted the ceremonies.
