MARCH MONTHLY MEETING – Hostesses Susan Pizani, Mary Hirsch and Karen Hotard will be looking for you at 11 at the Strawberry Board Building. Guest Speaker Sunday Hanson has some great information on building up your soil.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE: It’s that time again. The committee is appointed in March, their recommendations and voting are conducted in April. Installation is in May. Committee appointees were Jamie LeBlanc, Cynthia Cummer and Susan Pizani

FEBRUARY MEETING – Joint Tangipahoa Garden Club’s annual event will be hosted by Hammond Garden Club at Oak Knoll Country Club was a lot of fun. We got to dress in costumes or Mardi Gras theme. Good food and good company highlighted the event.
GENESIS AWARD: The Oaks Wedding & Event Center on Hwy 22 received the Genesis Award January 31 for their beautiful landscaping complete with illuminated oak trees. Thanks Cricket for the great selection.
ART IN BLOOM CLASSES: According to Pat Graves with Hammond Garden Club: Arts in Bloom floral competition and related activities will be doing a mini- class and competition this year in June, 2024. There will be two separate events - an interpretive floral design class and a design competition. Each will be in the month of June. The interpretive design class will be taught by Sharon Sledge and Linda Ryan. There will be spots for about 12 to 15 students and will last about two hours. A painting will be chosen and instruction will be given on what to look for

when planning an interpretive floral arrangement. Examples will also be shown on the multiple ways to interpret a painting from abstract to formal design. More information will be sent out in about 30 days with the date, cost. Location will be at the Hammond Regional Arts Center, Hammond, La.
ST. TAMMANY MASTER GARDENERS: The Annual Spring Seminar is scheduled for April 6. Should be a good source of information, usually have plants for sale, nice fellowship!
