HONORABLE MENTION
CYNTHIA ORGERON: Don't throw out your old outdoor cooking device, make it a planter!
LYNDA BYRD: Plastic Peanut Butter jars inverted with the bottoms cut off make nice centerpiece planters. Fill with dirt and plants for an inexpensive table favor.
|
MARGARET BAILEY: Neat treatment of microgardens in one container. Should look super when the plants fill out!

All club members are invited to submit entries showing recycling efforts of any kind that change a waste item into something useful instead of discarding it. You may change your photos any time during the year. Each photo will be numbered for anonymity. All photos must be taken by the member and not the work of anyone else. Pictures do not have to be recent shots. Contest ends April 1, 2016.
Photos can be emailed to Sandra Haro or Vicky Fannaly for posting on the web page. If you do not have email service, you may mail in the picture.
Judging will be conducted by a Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc. member who has experience in garden club procedure. Winners will be announced at the banquet and given a prize for first, second and third places. We hope you will enjoy recycling and photographing.
Birds and Butterflies Committee:

Not decorative, but useful! Rotisserie chicken containers make a mini terrarium to start seedlings. Tape the seed packet to the cover so you remember what's what! entered by Anna Poland.

My newest recycle of those neverending toilet paper tubes. Stuff with dryer lint and use as fire starters, cover with peanut butter and roll in bird seed then stick on a branch (where mine promptly became a squirrel feeder), corral all those extension cords ( could even label but I'm not there yet!), and cut then place ard. gift wrap ( though I mainly have RECYCLED gift bags). There may be more to come but I'm out of t.p. for the day. Submitted by Margaret Bailey
