Plant Exchange: Bring small plants from your garden to share
Gary Boutwell, Advanced Master Gardener, gave tips on growing tomatoes in the ground and in containers to the Gardenettes at their March 14 meeting, held in the Strawberry Board building.
Hostesses for the event were Anna Poland, Sandra Haro, and Cricket Ayala. The club is a member of District VI, Louisiana Garden Club Federation Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs Inc., National Garden Clubs Inc.
Jane O'Flynn acted as chaplain in the absence of Dale Rieth, and gave the two prayers that opened the meeting. President Poland thanked everyone for their help in what she felt was a successful joint area garden club meeting hosted by the Gardenettes. She gave the club credit for making the Antique Trade Days bake sale a success.
Liz Anderson gave the treasurer's report. Vice president Sonya Avery discussed plans for helping Restoration House, a pregnancy resource center, with a baby shower for some of their clients. Members agreed to use club funds for this project.
Cynthia Cummer introduced her guest Susan Pizaro. Pat Walsh and Ellen Pusey invited members to attend the Garden of the Month presentation to the Bordelon family on Weldon Circle.
