October 26 – St. Tammany Master Gardeners Seminar
October 27 - District VI Fall Meeting
October 27 – Last Day for Shoe Drive for Deep South Convention
October 31 – Deadline for tour to Holland
Nov 5-6 - Baton Rouge Flower Show & Tea 1:00-4:00
Nov 10 - Covington Garden Club Style Show
OCTOBER MEETING: Hostesses for the event are Cricket Ayala, Margaret Bailey, and Rose Ann Husser. A great presentation on making living succulent wreaths will be presented by Yvette Cutrer. You will love how these look! See you at the Strawberry Hut building in Memorial Park!
SEPTEMBER MEETING: Thanks to Marilyn Wright, Dottie Boudreaux and Sherry Klein for being hostesses. The refreshments were good, the speaker interesting!
BOSOM BUDDY BAGS: Since we have discontinued doing Bosom Buddy Bags, for two reasons = no chairman and the fact that it isn’t really garden club related = what do you think about donating the material to a quilting club? It would be better than letting it dry rot, and it is cute material.
HOLLAND TOUR: Holland has been planned for three years now, and we need more to sign-up for the tour by end of October! Travel plans and cost estimates will follow when I know if these choices are approved by your members. I know that many clubs will not begin until September, but you can go ahead and send this information out and ask them to share their feelings with you--and then you share with me! Thank you, Naomi Cordill - LGCF Tours Chairman.

SHOES DEADLINE 10/27: We are in the home stretch. So far we have collected 60 bags each with 25 pairs of gently worn (or 1,500 shoes!), used and new shoes. That leaves us only 700 pairs from our goal. If you haven’t collected your shoes yet, please try to collect them as soon as possible and have them for us by October 27, as we will be wrapping up the campaign.
DISTRICT VI FALL MEETING: This festive meeting held at Juban Restaurant in Baton Rouge will feature a guest speaker, Dan Gill, and other entertainment. If you want to enjoy an outing, put this on our calendar.
