October 27 - District VI Fall Meeting
SAD NEWS: Our friend and honorary member Peggy Avery passed away after a long struggle. Peggy was a LGCF Inc. Circle of Roses member and valued member of the Gardenettes. She was our only member who was a veteran. Prior to that she was president of the Community Garden Club for many years. Condolences to her family especially Michael Avery and his wife Sonya Avery who served as Gardenette president. A kind and loving lady, Peggy will be missed.

MORE SAD NEWS: Vice President Pat Walsh is having serious health issues which may involve radiology. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
SUMMER BOARD: Annual meeting with all LGCF Inc. officers and chairmen held at the Embassy Suites in Baton Rouge. Vicky Fannaly and Sunday Hanson were in charge of registration.
YEARBOOK LUNCHEON: Annual yearbook event was held at Salty Joe’s BBQ in Hammond July 27. Mainly a social, members pick up their yearbooks and have lunch in this dormant time.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: Don’t forget to collect the Box Tops and Community coffee coupons, to give to Betty Jordan. Schools can cash these in for educational supplies.
SHOES FOR CONVENTION: Deep South Convention next year will be using gently used shoes for a fundraiser. They will be collecting until January in case you feel a need to make room in your closet.
LOOSE CHANGE: Looking for coins for Penny Pines and Quarters for Waters. Bring them to the meeting when you attend.
DISTRICT VI FALL MEETING: This festive meeting held at Juban Restaurant in Baton Rouge will feature a guest speaker and other entertainment. If you want to enjoy an outing, put this on our calendar.
