The committee is looking at a Baton Rouge location for the 2028 event. So far off? NO! Still have positions open for chairmen and looking at all District VI clubs for help! No committee is overburdened - you can organize programs for the events and breakout sessions; help get advertising; organize the silent auction items; become a page for the state president and anyone higher who might come to the event.

Belle Oaks Garden Club, Hammond
Garden of the Month: The Martinez family - Alejandro, Lauren, Emma(13), Judah(4), Sofia(3), Liam(6months): We built our garden and greenhouses in 2023, the same year our daughter Sofia was born. I always feel like the garden blooms and grows right alongside her. Our garden has become such a special part of our home. We use it for Photo sessions, dinners with friends, and there have even been a few proposals and small weddings here. Our family spends a lot of mornings and evenings relaxing and working in the garden. We also have bee hives set back into the woods, and the honeybees love to go from flower to flower.

Here are a couple of pictures of what Covington Garden Club did for National Garden Week. The library here in Covington didn’t want another book so we filled a basket with seeds packets and the library allowed us to place it in a predominant area of the children’s section.

Thanks to the St. John School students for their participation in the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl Poster Contest. Plaquemine Garden Club members, Katherine Desselles and Jan Romero presented the awards.
