JULY 7 SUMMER BOARD MEETING – To be held at the Baton Rouge Garden Club Building at Independence Park Botanical Garden. There will be a meeting involving club presidents. If you haven't toured the Botanical Garden, it's worth a view. REGISTRATION - SCHEDULE

DISTRICT FALL MEETINGS

For our newer presidents, the District Fall Meetings are fun events to attend. Each club in the District is responsible for providing a nice raffle item for the event. Some clubs do a basket with an assortment of items; some do a nice white elephant type of donation. Price range is around $25-$30. A nice guest speaker, in our case Dan Gill, the popular horticulture authority who gives an interesting program, will enlighten the group. Some clubs will be honoring members who qualify for Circle of Roses members. Lunch is usually included in your registration fee AND you can go to all six of

NGC SEPTEMBER ZOOM CLASSES - These classes are part of a series of four learning sessions to qualify garden club members for consultant positions on the state councils. Check them out at gardenclub.org/our-schools
DISTRICT VI EDUCATION GRANT: Good news! If you attend an education school sponsored by LGCF and held in person in a Louisiana classroom, you could receive a refund on half of your registration fee! Annually two grants will be awarded for each school. Each grant will consist of half the cost of registration and can be used solely for this purpose. Grants will not cover travel, housing, or food. Members applying to an Environmental School, Flower Show School, Gardening School and Landscape Design School in person in a Louisiana classroom will be eligible. CLICK FOR INFORMATION

LGCF AWARD #2 Single member garden club determined by number of all members, including Life Members, on whom NGC dues are paid. A certificate and $10 will be presented to the best club yearbook, in each of the following categories:
1. Club under 20 members 2. Club 20-29 3. Club 30-44 4. Club 45-69 5. Club 70-99 6. Club 100-299 7. Club 300 or more SCALE OF POINTS FORMAT Book Structure: Practical, convenient size, durable, neat. Yearbook may be stapled, spiral, or 3-ring binders. Material should be well placed with ample margins and font size suitable for members to read. Cover: Include name of club, town, state organization, year and appealing design. If 3-ring binder cover is used, substitute with paper cover and include required information on cover and so note. 2pts 2pts
Title Page: Include name of club, town, state organization, year, number of dues paying members, and affiliated organizations (district, state, region, NGC, other). If state and national dues are paid on associate/inactive/honorary members, they are counted in total membership. 2pts Table of Contents: Number the yearbook pages and list topics on Contents Page. 1pt 4 SUBSEQUENT PAGES: In any order most useful to members and best fit for page placement. Information in a club yearbook should be in logical order. National and State information does not have to be in front. Membership Roster: Complete mailing addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses (if applicable). Avoid crowding. Suggestion to save space, “All area codes are and postal zip codes are unless otherwise noted. At least seven meetings a year 2. List date, time of meeting, location with address 3. List name of speaker/s, qualifications (brief), program title 4. PROJECTS: Projects involve actual membership participation that benefit the community and further NGC Goals and Objectives. Some fund raiser (sale of bulbs, bedding plants, herbs, etc.,) may help to beautify the community, as well as produce revenue for clubs. Some fund raisers may help promote NGC Member Services as well as publicize our organization and goals. Certain social activities may lead to membership increase. State such in descriptions.
